Woman shot, wounded at W. Phila. antiviolence rally

A stop-the-violence rally near 61st and Market Streets in West Philadelphia last night was interrupted by gunfire.
At least two shots were fired about 8 p.m., and a young woman at the rally was shot in the back, according to police. The woman, whose name was not available, was in stable condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania

The rally was a gathering of about 150 people trying to stop the violence in Philadelphia, a city that has averaged more than one homicide a day. Specifically, they were there to remember Terrence Walker, 19, who was shot dead Sunday. Walker's family was just starting to speak when the shots were fired, police said
